Back in 2009, you could hear all of our jaws collectively drop, “KER PLUNK,” as we
viewed “The Trapper’s Daughter Takes the Otter Slide” for the first time. What a
beauty! Rick Allen really went to town with this gem.
One of my favorite parts about Rick’s prints is that so often they spark a wonderful,
rich memory. For me, “The Otter Slide” always reminds me of a cold January day, parking
on Highway 61, strapping on my snowshoes and hiking right into another world… up the
frozen Devil Track River.
Do you have a favorite snowshoe expedition that this reminds you of?
In 2010, Rick delivered to us two versions of a beautiful, quiet and mellow print
“The Trapper’s Daughter & Who She Met in the Middle.”
