Day 7 – Hot Tea and Books!

Shiver me Elfin’ timbers…. It is close to -20 below in some parts of Cook County on this 7th Day of Gifting!! In this spirit we bring you “Hot Tea and Beautiful Book Day!”

A favorite memory of many Sivertson shoppers is our year-round complementary hot tea. Right when you walk in the door, you can stop by our tea stand and choose from an assortment of delicious Harney and Sons blends. Over 30 years ago, in Salisbury, Connecticut, John Harney developed a passion for fine teas. He started production out of the basement of the historic White Hart Inn, and began serving his blends to guests. He soon found out that these guests were coming back for more… more tea! So much more, that his small home-run family business soon became a global operation, now headquartered in Millerton, New York. With over 155 employees, Harney & Sons Tea in now one of the largest employers in the Hudson Valley. What a success story!

Books! Books! Books! Is there anything better than sitting in front of a wood stove with a hot beverage, on a snowy day, reading a book? The answer is no. Unless you swap out the hot beverage for a glass of wine… but that’s another story.

Here at Sivertson Gallery, we have a vast assortment of gorgeous books, from the beautiful story of Cape Dorset Prints, to historical stories of the Old North Shore, and of course many, many beautifully illustrated Children’s Books. Take a peek at our online selection, and fill that empty space in your bookshelf with one of our many family favorites such as “Once Upon an Isle”, “The Group of Seven”, and Betsy Bowen’s classic “Antler, Bear, Canoe.”
