Dancing Bear

There is something so exciting and wonderful about the dancing bear carvings here at the gallery.  I can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face after dusting around those “grooving” bears! I always knew the last day, the 12th day, would be my favorite dancing bears!!

Each stone sculpture comes with information regarding who carved them, where they were carved, and when. It’s a great little story, a history of the bear and it’s people. What a great gift, in it’s self, to know where this beautiful sculpture was created and know his (or her!) creator.

Feel free to visit the dancing bears at any time at our gallery in Grand Marais and also at Siiviis in Duluth.  And don’t forget, mark your calendars for the 13th Annual Inuit Premiere at Sivertson Gallery in Grand Marais!! You better bet your dancing “bear” bottom that the fabulous Throat Singers  Nina and Lydia, will be back for the festivities.
