Inuit Premiere
Saturday, March 13th.
Ohito will again be teaching students
at North House Folk School
the basics and advanced techniques
of soapstone carving.

Karen Olanna of Nome, AK
is one of the featured artists for
Sivertson Gallery's
10th Annual
Inuit Premiere
Saturday, March 13.
Karen Olanna is a
noted Alaskan sculptor
who creates mystical
native Eskimo inspired
works from indigenous
Alaskan caribou antler,
musk ox horn, whalebone
and ancient Alaskan
wooly mammoth bone,
which dates back thousands
of years. She creates both
animal forms and human figures
from these natural materials
which she and her husband,
Bryan Weyauwanna gather
from the tundra and beaches
west of Nome.
